How is the flat-rate price worked out?
Jamal walks your home or does a quick video survey, counts the rooms and the heavy or awkward pieces, and factors the stairs, elevators, and drive. Then he writes one binding number that covers the crew, truck, blankets, and dollies. The price that books your date is the price you pay.
What does a local move cost?
Hourly is $145/hr for a two-mover crew and truck, or $205/hr if you want a third mover to move faster. Most jobs we quote as a flat band instead: a studio runs $385 to $560, a one-bedroom $590 to $900, a two-bedroom $1,010 to $1,540. Blankets, dollies, and basic tools are included.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes, $150 to lock your date on the calendar. It is not an extra fee — it comes straight off your final total. If you need to reschedule with reasonable notice, the deposit moves with you to the new date.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Georgia regulates intrastate household-goods movers through the Department of Public Safety, Motor Carrier Compliance Division, and we hold a Class B Household-Goods Carrier Certificate. For out-of-state work we carry US DOT and MC authority, and we renew both on schedule. Coverage runs up to $1,000,000 cargo per shipment.
How does Atlanta weather change scheduling?
Summer afternoons hit the 90s with thunderstorms rolling in, so we load early when we can and beat both the heat and the I-285 traffic. Late March and April bring the pine pollen, and we shrink-wrap upholstery so that yellow dust does not ride into your new place.
Are there items your crew cannot take?
We can't haul hazardous materials like propane tanks, gasoline, paint, ammunition, or other flammables and chemicals. We also leave live plants behind, since they don't survive the truck and some states stop them at the line. We'll tell you ahead of time so you can plan to carry those yourself.
Can you handle a Midtown or Buckhead high-rise?
Yes, that's a big part of what we do. Most towers want a certificate of insurance on file before move day, so give us the building's management contact and we'll send the COI directly. DeShawn's crew reserves the freight elevator and times the load so you're not fighting other tenants for it.
For a long haul, do the same movers handle both ends?
Yes. The movers who load your home in Atlanta are the same ones who unload it at the other end. We keep your shipment on one of our trucks the entire route, with no warehouse transfer and no second company. Long-distance starts at $2,290 on a binding written quote.
Can you move a piano?
We do, regularly. Uprights, baby grands, gun safes, and dense gym equipment go on proper boards with the right straps and trained hands. Specialty pieces start at $369 on top of the move, and we'll quote the exact figure once we know the instrument and the stairs involved.
Do you offer storage between moves?
Yes. If your closing dates don't line up, we hold your goods in climate-controlled space and redeliver on the day you're ready. It's the same crew loading out of storage, so nothing gets handed off to anyone you didn't hire.
What about stairs and walk-ups?
We move plenty of third-floor walk-ups in places like Inman Park and Old Fourth Ward. Stairs are part of the survey, so they're already in your flat quote, with no surprise stair fee on move day. Just tell Jamal the floor and whether there's an elevator.
